Michelle Han

I am a sophomore pursuing a major in Molecular Biology with an intended minor in Bioengineering. I joined the lab due to my interest in engineering synthetic plant systems to address challenges related to climate change and sustainability. So far, I have developed foundational laboratory techniques while discovering a deep interest in the lab's research and becoming part of its welcoming team. I work with the engineering subgroup to engineer the pyrenoid, a highly efficient CO2-concentrating structure, into Auxenochlorella protothecoides. 

 In my free time, I serve as an Advising Fellow for Matriculate. I enjoy thrifting, going to the gym, hiking, playing card games, food trips, and thrilling activities!
